RE:          Mallory Valley Utility District

Water Line Replacement along Crockett Springs Trail and Andrew Crockett Court

Mallory Valley Utility District, your water provider, is preparing to begin construction to replace the existing water lines and service connections in your area.  The water line replacement and improvements will begin at the cul-de-sac on Andrew Crockett Court and proceed towards the intersection of Crockett Springs Trail and Moores Lane.

Competitive Bids have been received and the contractor has been selected.  The District’s Board of Commissioners approved a contract with JSJ Construction, LLC for work to begin in early September.  The project is planned to last 100 days.

Mallory Valley is mandated by the State of Tennessee to actively monitor and reduce water loss throughout its system.  The existing water lines in your subdivision are PVC (polyvinyl chloride) pipe which has experienced normal wear over the years and is in need of replacement.   The District is replacing the 8 inch PVC pipe with an 8 inch ductile iron pipe which has a much longer lifespan and is not prone to deterioration as quickly as PVC.  The District’s new water lines will be located within the City of Brentwood Right-of-Way.

Throughout the construction period, you can expect to see heavy construction equipment and materials in the area where work is occurring.  There is a “no blast” requirement for the project.  Work times have been limited to Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday.  No work is to occur on Sunday or on nationally recognized holidays.

Mallory Valley understands there will be some inconvenience for the customers along this route that may be caused during the project but we ensure you that we will do our best to limit these inconveniences.  Our contractor will make every effort to allow you access through the work zone but, during the day, there may be temporary delays when the contractor is installing the new water line within roadways.  Through access will be allowed to all residents who live in the construction work zone at all times.  However, please be prepared for temporary delays periodically.

As the water line nears completion, your existing water service will be re-connected to the new water line.  This will require a brief interruption of water service to your home.  Our contractor will issue notices and coordinate with you during this time to minimize the impact of this change-over of water service.

Mallory Valley will issue more information and will periodically update our website as construction progresses.  If you have questions regarding this project, please contact me at (615) 628-0237.

Thank you,
